Should my patient s/p Surgery for Aortic Aneurysm/Dilation/Dissection participate in organized sports?

S/p surgical correction and no residual aortic enlargement/dissection


If no residual enlargement or dissection:

"It is reasonable for athletes with surgical correction of the aortic root or ascending aorta for aneurysm disease or dissection and no evidence of residual aortic enlargement or dissection to participate in low static, low dynamic sports (class IA) that do not include the potential for bodily collision."

Class IA sports without the potential for bodily collision = Reasonable, if no residual enlargement/dissection
