participate in organized sports?

Should my patient with Ebstein Anomaly of the Tricuspid Valve participate in organized sports?

Need to know:

Mild-moderate Ebstein, without arrhythmias

"Patients with mild to moderate Ebstein anomaly (ie, no cyanosis, normal RV size, tricuspid regurgitation that is moderate or less, and no evidence of atrial or ventricular arrhythmias) can be considered for participation in all sports."

Can consider all sports

(Class IIb Recommendation; Level of Evidence C)

Severe TR, without arrhythmias

"Patients with Ebstein anomaly with severe tricuspid regurgitation but without evidence of arrhythmias on ambulatory electrocardiographic monitoring (except isolated premature contractions) may be considered for participation only in low-intensity class IA sports."

Only Class IA sports

(Class IIb Recommendation; Level of Evidence C)
